Laksens Hus is SalMar’s display centre right in the centre of Alta. We are located in the Knowledge Park, in the pedestrian street.

In our interactive exhibition, we give you an insight into various topics, as well as the history of the industry and the future. We will highlight developments and challenges with sustainability and the environment in focus.

You can also explore the story of the importance of wild salmon to today’s aquaculture industry in our centre, and gain an insight into the significance of the Alta River for the local community and environment.

The centre has developed its own customised programme for school classes and groups, where learning takes place through activities both at the centre and out at sea.

Our guides have a background in business and education. Here you can engage in dialogues and activities about aquaculture.
