Lofotakvariet is located in Kabelvåg, and the aquaculture display facility is part of the experience centre. Here we have a salmon aquarium, salmon display cages and a brand new interactive exhibition about Norwegian aquaculture.

Here you can gain an insight into current and future aquaculture, including through VR goggles that show the production of salmon, a viewing cage where you can talk to a salmon smoker, and an eight-metre-long model of the Havfarm development project.

In addition to the display facility, we give you a unique deep dive into important Norwegian history. Here you are in the middle of an industry that has driven Lofoten forward for many generations, and you can study most local fish species, shellfish and sea creatures in our underwater world with 23 small and large aquariums, seal pools, otter ponds and much more.

If you want to learn more about the aquaculture industry, we collaborate with the adventure company XXLofoten, which takes guests on an adventure trip by RIB out to a modern fish farm at sea.
