Hardanger Akvasenter is located in Øystese in Kvam municipality.
WHAT:
In 2007, we became Norway’s first display centre for aquaculture. A visit here gives you a unique insight into aquaculture in one of the world’s most beautiful fjords. Here you can see how salmon farming is carried out in practice, and also take part in the interactive exhibition ‘This is where I live’. The exhibition is engaging for both children and adults, and provides insight into how the natural conditions in the Hardangerfjord facilitate salmon farming. If you want a guided tour, you’ll get a thorough introduction to the various stations, as well as an explanation of the work carried out at a fish farm.
The viewing centre is open for guided tours on request throughout the year, and has permanent staffing for drop-in guests during the summer. RIB trips on the Hardangerfjord are also offered when capacity is available.
