Skjerjehamn has been an important hub for fishing, trade and industry, and in the early 1900s it was one of the largest harbours in Western Norway.
In 2005, Firda Seafood took over as owner of Skjerjehamn. Since then, aquaculture has been our cornerstone and we are proud to promote one of the country’s largest industries.
We offer our guests daily rib tours of the archipelago, with visits to one of our fish farms and our slaughterhouse.
The Blue Garden is an outdoor exhibition about aquaculture. Through various analogue installations, you can explore how salmon and trout farming works in Norway today, and why it will be important for the world tomorrow. The exhibition runs along a path that is about 300 metres long at Skjerjehamn.
In our restaurant in Pakkhuset, you’ll always be served locally sourced trout.
